During the Back When It Was Rap celebration in Raleigh-Durham, NC, many of the areas living legends participated in the Carolina Crate Diggas Podcast & Panel. For the first time in North Carolina, several pioneers of hip-hop assembled together for an evening of oral history. The CCD Podcast & Panel took place at the historic landmark, the Hayti Heritage Center located in Durham, NC.

One of the most influential figures in NC hip-hop is legendary DJ and veteran radio personality, Wink Moody, who apparently is always on duty. He spoke with NC Hip-Hop History about who inspired him to become an original Carolina Crate Digga. Stay tuned for the video as Moody also explains why he continues to mentor for up and coming radio DJs and personalities for over 40 years.

WRAL's Ken Smith talks with NABS about Back When It Was Rap and his participation in the 18th annual Juneteenth celebration in Durham. He gives some history of how hip-hop began in the Raleigh-Durham area and who were the pioneers behind the movement.
